TXTing And Phone Use Now A Bigger Threat Than DUI On The Road
A recent study by the behavior analytics company, Zendrive, found that people
who use their phone while driving is now a bigger threat on the
roads than drunk drivers. What's worse is that those who are addicted to
their phones are also the ones who drive the most! In fact, they drive
on average 760% more miles than the average American driver.
This is a much more difficult problem to mitigate. We all know that if
you are on the road at 2 a.m. you need to be extra vigilant looking out
for impaired drivers. With phone addicts, it could be anyone, anytime,
including teenagers.
Drunk driving is still a serious threat and so is the use of over the
counter and prescription drugs. Anything that keeps you from focusing on
being behind the wheel is something you should really avoid. If you live
in Burlington, Essex, Colchester, Winooski, Williston, Shelburne or
anywhere in the State of Vermont, and have been arrested or charged with
DUI or any crime, call Handy Law for aggressive and experienced legal
defense.
