Sometimes the Drunk Driver Isn't The One Driving
An interesting case occurred in Los Angeles. An officer noticed a car driving erratically on a side street. He pulled the car over expecting to find a drunk driver. Instead, he found a nine-year-old girl behind the wheel - with her drunk mom sitting beside her and her mom's boyfriend (also drunk) in the back seat.
Apparently the woman thought that having her sober daughter drive was a good idea that would keep her from legal troubles. Once again, being impaired leads to poor decisions! Though not charged with DUI, the couple were charged with Child Neglect and Reckless Endagerment. Never drink and drive and you owe it to yourself to keep you presence of mind at all times to avoid making bad choices.
