My Dad Has Multiple DUIs, I have None. Can I Take the Hit for Him?
Believe it or not, some people are so protective and attached to others, that they will sacrifice their own criminal background to clear someone of charges. This is currently a scenario under investigation in Tennessee. If it is not obvious when police arrive as to who the driver of a vehicle was at a crash scene, they must rely on witness testimony. Such is the case when police responded to a crash when it was discovered that, of the two people in the car in question, one had four DUIs, the other had none, only one speeding ticket on her complete criminal record. The man who had the four DUIs was the father of the woman who claimed responsibility for drunk driving. Both father and daughter were found to be over the legal limit for blood alcohol. The county sheriff did not buy that the daughter was the one driving since the father had so many previous DUIs and the matter is currently being looked into further. Remember, never operate a vehicle if you are under the influence of any substance.
