Electric Scooter DUI? Indeed!
One more mode of transportation has been involved in a DUI conviction.
The casual, fun electric scooter is now a device that can be operated under the influence.
Of course, everyone should know that you should
not, under any circumstances, operate any mode of transportation under
the influence of any substance.
In Long Beach, California a man had rented a mobile scooter to go along
the boardwalks and beachfront. While he was "scooting" about, he
happened to collide with a pedestrian. He then left the scene without so
much as giving his name to the individual he had collided with. Police
were able to locate him and when they did, much to his surprise, he was
charged with DUI.
The man ended up with three years probation, a fine of $550 and he was
required to attend a three month DUI program. If you live in Burlington,
Essex, Colchester, Winooski, Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the
State of Vermont, and have been arrested or charged with DUI or any
crime, call Handy Law for aggressive and experienced legal defense.
