Driving "Buzzed" Is Driving Drunk
Massachusetts, our neighbor to the south, has started a new ad campaign informing viewers that driving \"buzzed\" is driving drunk. We have all heard a friend say they are \"fine to drive, just a bit buzzed.\" Remember, buzzed is not \"fine to drive.\" People are generally unaware how few drinks it can take to put you over the legal limit for operating impaired. In fact, two strong drinks in the space of an hour is usually enough to put most people over the limit.
One more bit of advice can be gleaned from the new ads. If you tell an officer you are buzzed, it is basically grounds for getting arrested on a charge of DUI. Remember, never speak to police about existing or potential charges for any crime unless you have spoken to and are with an attorney.
