DUI Is Not The Only Crime Liquor Can Get You Mixed Up In
Everyone knows that it is against the law to drink and drive. It is also against
the law to drive under the influence of most any mood or motor
altering substance. However, liquor can also get you in legal trouble
for a variety of other reasons.
Public intoxication is a real thing. Though you rarely hear of it, it is
always good to bear in mind that you are responsible for your behavior
when in public. Being publicly drunk is not acceptable social behavior.
Purchasing alcohol for minors is a serious crime. Even if it is your own
children's party, never provide or purchase alcohol for minors. Along
the same lines, it is also illegal for minors to possess alcohol. Make
sure your children know that drinking is for citizens over 21 years of age.
Furthermore, possessing an open container, especially while driving
and/or consuming it while driving is a definite no-go. Make sure your
liquor is sealed and put away, preferably in a bag so there can be no
confusion of it being open. If you live in Burlington, Essex,
Colchester, Winooski, Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the State of
Vermont, and have been arrested or charged with DUI or any crime, call
