A New Testing Device For The Cops - And New Questions
A new product has been developed which the police intend to use in their War on Drugs. This device is called a DDS2, and it involves taking a swab of saliva from a subject and analyzing it immediately at the scene.
This sounds like a great gizmo, right? The problem is that the device only tests for the PRESENCE of drugs, not the LEVEL present. Therefore, you could have had a mere "toke" of marijuana and that would register as a positive for the test. But, one "hit" of marijuana may or may not mean that you are technically "under the influence" of the drug. These gray areas will need to be sorted out as more and more states begin to legalize the use of marijuana.
As always, never drive under the influence of any substance. if you have been arrested or charged with DUI and you live in Essex, Burlington, South Burlington, Winooski, Colchester, Williston or anywhere in the State of Vermont, call the Law Office of C Jordan Handy to discuss your case.
