Social Media And Your Defense

Everybody likes to post about their good times on Facebook and other social media outlets. This is wonderful and a great way to keep friends and family informed as to what you are doing in your spare time. It is also a way for the government and, more precisely, law enforcement, to gather evidence against you! First of all, never drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any substance. If you made that mistake, and you or one of your friends decided to post a pic of that joy ride on their Facebook page, watch out! Anything that is not 180 days old does not necessarily need a warrant to be used against you. The law is still not clear as what is or is not protected on social media. Until you know for sure, you need an experienced attorney to help you with your defense. If you live in Burlington, Essex, Colchester, Winooski, Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the State of Vermont, and have been arrested or charged with DUI or any crime, call The Law Office of C Jordan Handy for aggressive and experienced legal defense.
