Prescription Drugs And Domestic Violence

After reviewing hundreds of cases of domestic abuse, The Addiction
Center found that, perhaps not surprisingly, 60 (sixty) percent of them
involved substance abuse. However, of those cases, what percent involved
prescription medications, as opposed to alcohol or illicit drugs?

Anti-depressants, anti-anxiety drugs and prescription opioids were at
the top of the list of drugs that are most likely to be involved with
incidents of domestic abuse. Why? The fact is that all of these drugs
have psychotropic effects on individuals which can render them more
likely to lose inhibitions or exacerbate violent tendencies. Also, an
improperly prescribed drug may also lead to an episode of domestic
abuse. If you live in Burlington, Essex, Colchester, Winooski,
Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the state of Vermont, and have been
arrested or charged with domestic abuse or any crime, call Handy Law for
aggressive and experienced legal defense.
