Over the Memorial Day weekend there was a very popular music festival which took place in Napa County, California. This was the BottleRock music festival and as with all rock festivals one could expect a lot of drinking along with the concerts and partying. Knowing that a country festival would not be located directly near hotels the festival attendees would be staying at, several Napa County organizations, including the local chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving banded together to offer alternative transportation to festival goers.
Everything from the local Vine Transit company offering extended hours to Uber running a $15 promotion to get people back to their hotels were advertised and it was a great success. People took advantage of these deals and, clearly, the number of people putting their lives and others' lives at risk was greatly reduced.
It is really good for everyone when we as a community work together to combat needless crimes such as DUI.
