I'm Drunk on the Course Driving My Cart. Am I Committing a DUI?

The answer should be obvious, and it is yes. In Florida, for example, you can and will be charged with a DUI if you are operating a golf cart with a DUI of .08 or greater. If you are involved in an accident with a golf cart and are above the legal limit, you will almost certainly be charged with a DUI. Given that golf cart communities, like condo associations, are growing and using golf carts to travel between residences, we will probably be seeing more and more of these charges.

You may ask, what exactly is a vehicle that you can be charged with a DUI while operating? The answer is many vehicles. The list includes:

Bicycle
Lawnmower
ATV
Wheelchair
Golf Cart
Moped
Horse
