Two DUI Convictions Are Risky For Those Who Want To Become Citizens

Nobody should ever get a DUI, and nobody should ever operate a vehicle
under the influence of any substance. Those who do get DUIs understand
the great cost they claim financially and socially. If you are an
immigrant seeking to become a US citizen, there is an additional reason
to avoid getting a DUI, and especially to avoid getting more than one.

There is a clause in the US immigration code that states that anyone who
wants to become a US citizen must be of good moral character. One act
that definitely prevents anyone from claiming good moral character is to
be labeled a Habitual Drunkard. If and an individual has two DUI
convictions, it can be inferred that they are a habitual drunkard and
may be denied citizenship.

If you are accused of DUI or any crime, you need a strong, experienced
defender to protect your rights and your hopes of immigration if you are
not currently a citizen. If you live in Burlington, Essex, Colchester,
Winooski, Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the state of Vermont,
and have been arrested or charged with DUI or any crime, call Handy Law
for aggressive and experienced legal defense.
