New Jersey Has A New DUI Campaign

Now that recreational marijuana is legal in many states, and about to become
legal in many more, some states are opting to create DUI
campaigns that focus just on the use of marijuana. The new campaign
slogan reads: “When you feel different, you drive different. If you
drive high, you get a DUI.”

The issue of impaired driving has also become a far more complicated
matter than simply driving drunk. In many ways, drunk driving is "old
school." A recent National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s
National Roadside Survey found that about 22% of drivers have
demonstrable levels of prescription drugs in their blood.

What actually constitutes impaired driving under the influence of
marijuana is still a matter of great debate. There are no standards as
to what exactly is a legal limit for the drug THC, which is what causes
marijuana to generate impaired behavior. Eventually, standards will be
developed and there are some marijuana "breathalyzers" currently on the
market. If you live in Burlington, Essex, Colchester, Winooski,
Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the State of Vermont, and have been
arrested or charged with DUI or any crime, call Handy Law for aggressive
and experienced legal defense.
