Holiday State Patrol Season

As in many states, Vermont has ramped up its campaign to crack down on impaired driving during the holiday season. There are ads running on TV, radio and the internet featuring people getting "nailed" who drive impaired. Also interesting is that this year they are focusing almost equally on driving impaired by alcohol or any other substances.

In California, the campaign is running under the banner of "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over." Similar to Vermont, there are increased patrols and California also uses checkpoints and saturation patrols.

Of course, the best way to avoid being charged with a DUI is to abstain from all alcohol and drugs. If you must drink, consider downloading a BAC (blood alcohol content) app or using Uber and Lyft to get yourself home. If you live in Burlington, Essex, Colchester, Winooski, Williston, Shelburne or anywhere in the State of Vermont, and have been arrested or charged with DUI or any crime, call Handy Law for aggressive and experienced legal defense.
