Traffic Accidents Increase In States With Legalized Marijuana

A recent study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has found
that accidents in states that have legalized marijuana have gone up
6%.   The states showing the increase in traffic accidents are Colorado,
Oregon, Washington, and Nevada. The neighboring states where marijuana is still illegal have not shown any increase in traffic accidents.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is not attaching any
significance to this statistic. They are staying with their 2015
assessment that legalizing marijuana is not going to have any
significant impact on the occurrence of traffic accidents.
